To the best of my knowledge all the stanhopea names are correct. Whenever I'm not sure about a name I'll make a note in the post.

Stanhopea costaricensis (No 4)
A species found in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 500 to 1500 meters.
This is another clone of this very varied species. This plant has an eyespot on the hypochile
The costaricensis flowers most years in January. This particular plant grows outside in Sydney. I’m finding some other costaricensis clones are doing better grown in the glasshouse.

A primary hybrid between Stanhopea oculata x Stanhopea graveolens
Flowers most years in February
With oculata and graveolens as parents this hybrid grows well in Sydney. This clone has an eye spot on the hypochile.

Flowers most years in mid February

Flowers most years in late January
This is growing well in my bush house. Great plant.

Flowers most years anywhere from late February to early April
This grows well for me in the bush house.

Found in Mexico around 1000 to 1800 metres.
This grows well for me in Sydney. Flowering most years, normally around late December.
This is one of the species that is said to need a rest during winter to trigger flowering

Flowers most years in mid to early February
This is a large growing hybrid. Another plant I’m excited about seeing reach specimen size.
